It’s not entirely shocking that Google would want to make its own handsets, especially after the release of the Nexus; and really, Android did need the multitude of patents that Motorolla has, which did feel real enough for the sole reason of the purchase.  So now we find out that the handsets was a bonus. Not too surprising, but why would they say it? Do they really want to tick off HTC? Not a good idea. The only thing that could save HTC from being too ticked off is the Microsoft/Nokia agreement.
