Windows Phone seems to be making headway on a number of levels. It seems Apollo (version 8) will add to the user experience and probably create more interest in the non-geek smartphone arena.
People who have Windows Phones love them and don’t seem eager to find a new platform. I know people who’ve changed from Android to iOS and iOS to Android. Granted, Android to iOS is much more common. Since Windows Phone has a very unique look and feel, I don’t see many people who come to enjoy the ease-of-use of Windows Phone switching to another platform. And that is where Microsoft did it right with Windows Phone.
Sure, I don’t see myself making the switch to Windows Phone, but I do enjoy watching the platform grow and find users. And the user base for Windows Phone is pretty large. Not only that, but I would–and have–recommend a Windows Phone to any non-geek person looking for a smartphone to simplify their lives.
