This is not anything new, but it was probably the best article I’ve read on where social media is heading. And although I haven’t installed the Facebook Messenger app— I do use Facebook—it makes me want to give it a try.
It does bug me slightly that the article doesn’t mention Hangouts, which is a Google product and integrates messaging with Google+ while supporting SMS and MMS. I was only half into Hangouts when I installed it on my phone, but have come to use it over the default SMS/MMS app that comes with my LG Spectrum 2. I like how it handles everything and gives me an easy way to archive SMS/MMS messages so they don’t clutter my list of messages.
